Stadt nach Acht plans with our Event Curation System
The night culture conference, which takes place in Leipzig this year, uses our Event Operating System for planning, programme and website in one.
Stadt nach Acht is a conference dedicated to the difficult conditions that nightlife, the club scene and not least live music venues are facing. The ninth edition runs under the motto "Safe. Night. Live." and takes place in Leipzig from 12 to 14 November. Before that, satellite events stop in Döbeln, Zittau and Chemnitz.
For the Stadt nach Acht team we host the Event Curation System (ECS). What makes it special: here ECS is not only the tool behind the scenes but also the conference website itself. Whatever is entered in the planning tool is online in the same moment.
Planning by drag and drop
Programme planning happens in the ECS calendar. Sessions are dragged onto stages and time slots, duration and room can be adjusted right in the grid. For everything needed outside the system there are numerous export functions: lists for the tech crew, overviews for partners, data for print and social media.

One programme, three views
Visitors see the programme on the website as a list, as a schedule across all stages or in columns per day. Topic tags, format and language can be filtered, a tap on the heart marks a session as a favourite. Anyone who prefers their plan in their own calendar exports it as an ics file.
Just the same on the go
On the smartphone the handling stays the same: days, favourites, filters and views sit in a bar at the bottom, within easy reach of the thumb. At a later point there will also be an app for attendees.
Design by ÜBERSCHMIEDE
The look of the website comes from ÜBERSCHMIEDE, an agency for branding and corporate design. The monospace typography, the neon colours and the tinted image style run through all views, down to the session cards and the toolbar. We implemented the design in EOS so that it stays stable even when the programme changes.
